M.C. Escher - Cubic Space Division
Escher is a a big influence of mine and I remember spending hours just looking at his work as a kid. Admittedly, Cubic Space Division is a pretty straightforward study given modern CGI tools, particularly C4D’s MoGraph system. The main structure for this came about fairly quickly using MoGraph and the hardest part of this was emulating Escher’s render using C4D’s Sketch & Toon. My study is definitely not an exact reproduction, however I would say it’s roughly 90% there. The last 10% can be found in the way Escher gradually lightens the shading on the structure as it recedes into the background.
